InvestingZone will launch this week and aims to match wealthy individuals with entrepreneurs attempting to raise funds. The company already has about a dozen firms on its roster that are looking for investment and hopes to sign up thousands of angel investors to provide them with funding.

Mr Moulton, founder of Better Capital, said he believed the market was “ripe” for crowd-sourcing funding for new businesses given the difficulty many entrepreneurs were having securing loans from established high street banks.

InvestingZone will conduct due diligence on all the businesses on its network and potential investors will be able to study the finances of any start-up through a range of online services, including an iPad app.
